Treating your pain – without surgery in 95% of cases.
Too often when patients go to a surgeon, surgery is scheduled when other options are better. Dr. McKalip works hard with you to find the best treatment plan for your spinal related problems. The first step is to get your diagnosis. That involves talking to and listening to the patient. This process of listening to the patient (taking the medical history) is the most important part of your time with Dr. McKalip. The history, together with the physical exam and radiographic studies will help Dr. McKalip reach a diagnosis for your pain.
Once you get your diagnosis, Dr. McKalip will work to find options that can ease your pain and other symptoms without surgery. Once it is clear is no danger requiring urgent surgery many options are available to help your symptoms. They should be focused on the diagnosis and also on a long term plan to keep your health and avoid surgery if able.
